And, the W&L Proxy Server: The new proxy server at W&L will allow you to search online library databases (America: History and Life; Historical Abstracts, etc.) from any internet computer, anywhere in the world. You no longer have to be on campus to access these databases. The databases will look exactly the same as when you search them on campus, so you don't have to get used to new interfaces. When you're on sabbatical, at a conference, on vacation, or at home in your pajamas, you can reach our resources just as easily as you can from on-campus. Is this service restricted to faculty? No. All students, staff, and faculty (anyone with a Novell account) can take advantage of this service. So please advertise it to your students.
Is there a charge involved? No. There is no charge and no time restriction for searching the databases.
How do I get there? Go to Leyburn Library's home page (library.wlu.edu). Select the database you'd like to search. You will get prompted for your Novell login and password. These are what you use every morning when you get to work. Say YES to the Security Alert prompt, and you will be connected to the database.
